About Takoradi Technical Institute 

The school was formerly Takoradi Vocational Training
and Trade Promotion Centre and was borne out of
an agreement with Ghana and German Government
for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) to provide skilled
labour for the industrial development of the Western
Region and Ghana at large. Initially it was to polish
artisans such as mechanics, welders etc. within
the Sekondi / Takoradi metropolis until in 1982, the
Ghana Education Service through the technical/
vocational education division converted the centre
into Takoradi Technical Institute.

VISION
Takoradi Technical Institute’s vision is to be second to
none in the production of middle-level manpower for
industry and self-employment.

MISSION

To produce skills and qualifications that meet the
changing needs of the labour market.
