Following the promulgation of the Insurance Act, 2006 (Act 724), GLICO General Insurance Company (GLICO General) was incorporated and licensed to operate as a specialist general insurance company.

Unlike the other general insurance companies in Ghana that had been established many years before Act 724 mandated the decomposition of life and non-life insurances companies, GLICO General started from the bottom in 2006. However, by dint of hard work, astute management and innovative business model, the Company has grown to become one of the leading non-life insurance companies in the country both in terms of assets and premium market share.
GLICO General has capitalized on GLICO Group’s extensive branch network across all the Regions in Ghana to deliver bespoke products, excellent and speedy services to policyholders.
