Gender - Boys Housing status - Day and Boarding Year of Establishment - 1978 St. James Seminary & Senior High School St. James Seminary and Senior High is a public school and a Catholic minor seminary in the Bono Region of Ghana, established in 1978 by the late Bishop of Roman Catholic Diocese of Sunyani Most Rev. James Kwadwo Owusu. which offers a wide range of opportunities for both seminarians and non-seminarians to make them not only aware of their potentials but to fulfil them. The School opened as a private school under the supervision of the late Monsignor Robert Mensah Abrampah, the first rector. It became a government-assisted school in 1994. The administration of the school has since been reserved for the church. VISION The vision of St. James Seminary Senior High School is to become the leading Second Cycle Institution in churning out morally sound, academically competent and critical thinking young men capable of pursuing any professional studies to realize their full potentials for committed service to humanity. MISSION The mission of St James Seminary Senior High School is to prepare very knowledgeably, highly motivated and diligent Seminarians to become Priests for the Catholic Church, and also nurture responsible, selfless and God-fearing young men to become leaders capable of making positive contributions towards the Church and the State. COURSES OFFERED - Business - General Arts - General Science SCHOOL STATISTICS - No. of Students (SHS 1): 280 - No. of Students (SHS 2): 457 - No. of Students (SHS 3): 297 SCHOOL FACILITIES - Library - Computer Lab - Boarding Facilities - Assembly Hall - Dining Hall - Science Labs ACHIEVEMENTS - Best Science School during the recent Best Teachers Award at Koforidua in 2017. - Adjudged the best Senior High School in Ghana over the past decade. - Part of the top ten schools with the best WASSCE results over a decade. - Highest scoring School for WASSCE in 2006, 2009, 2011 and 2019. - Produced the overall best and third-best candidates in West Africa in the 2016 WASSCE exams.
