About-
Lassia-Tuolu Senior High School was established
on 3rd May, 1995 by the Catholic Diocese of Wa.
The idea of establishing a secondary school was
mooted by the chief and people of Jenbob to the
then Bishop of Wa and now Archbishop Emeritus,
Gregory Kpienbaya, in the late 1980s, to cater for the
youth of secondary school going age. This was the
first mixed Catholic Senior High School in the Upper
West Region.
The school which started as a Day School, was
formally absorbed into the Public System in 1997
and then the boarding system was also introduced.
The school was named after a Jew in Loyola named
St. Ignatius, who was credited with this popular
saying: “If the Saints can do it, why can’t I?” The
school celebrates St. Ignatius of Loyola Day, every
31st July, the day Ignatius died.
